About the session
Launched in the summer of 2020, the pilot Siena Residency program ran from July through September. Artists and researchers from various disciplines and backgrounds came together in the non-urban setting of Chiusure to focus on their respective practices surrounded by a community of peers. Residents not only engaged with the local community through various collaborations and events– from cookouts to open studio visits and public talks–, but also discovered cultural institutions and historical sites in the region. This pilot year established the Siena Residency as a staple in the Chiusure community, allowing for rich exchange between the residents and inhabitants of the village.
