On Sunday August 20, Myth & Mouth presents Chirri & Chirra, written and illustrated by Kaya Doi, and told by our Amant education facilitator Colleen Stonebrook.

Chirri & Chirra introduces two charming girls who go on wonderful adventures together through the natural world. Join us for a reading of this sweet and lively story where we meet bears, bunnies, and other forest critters along a magical bike ride. Colleen will read the first book of Kaya Doi’s Chirri & Chirra series, of which 8 books have been translated into English.

This event is free and open to all families, especially participants ages 0-3+. Prior registration is recommended, drop-ins are welcome.

Born in Tokyo, Kaya Doi graduated with a degree in design from Tokyo Zokei University. She got her start in picture books by attending the Atosaki Juku Workshop, a program at a Tokyo bookshop specializing in illustrated books and has created many picture books since then. She now lives in Chiba Prefecture to the East of Tokyo and maintains a strong interest in environmental and animal welfare issues; since the earthquake of March 2011, she has been active in recovery and shelter efforts for abandoned pets.
