In conjunction with Kim Gordon’s solo exhibition Count Your Chickens, Amant presents, for one night only, a program of music videos directed and edited by Berlin-based artist and filmmaker Loretta Fahrenholz.

Fahrenholz and Kim Gordon have collaborated on a series of music videos for over a decade, culminating in a tour video in 2020, which will be presented alongside Sketch Artist (2019), Earthquake (2019), Hungry Baby (2019), Paprika Pony (2019) and Murdered Out (2016). Presented in Amant’s courtyard as a video installation, their five music videos will be shown chronologically throughout the night. From Fahrenholz’s signature picture-in-picture technique employed in Murdered Out, to the pixelated footage of Earthquake, shot through security footage, to the stark visuals of Sketch Artist, a music video which sees Gordon starring as a rideshare driver moving through the streets of LA, the program highlights the distinct collaborative aesthetics of Fahrenholz and Gordon.

Loretta Fahrenholz is a filmmaker and visual artist based in Berlin. Fahrenholz’s work has been shown internationally, including solo exhibitions at Amant, Brooklyn, NY (2024); Bergen Kunsthall (2023); Kölnischer Kunstverein, Cologne (2022); n.b.k. – Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (2021); mumok – Museum of Modern Art Ludwig Foundation, Vienna (2018); Fridericianum, Kassel (2016); Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (2016), and Kunsthalle Zürich (2015), as well as film screenings at CPH:DOX, Copenhagen (2024), Ann Arbor Film Festival (2019, 2020, 2021), and Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen (2014, 2020), among others.
