Grand Opening

July 10, 12 – 6 pm
932 Grand & 315 Maujer

After years of developing our art campus and artistic program, Amant is ready to be the home of a dynamic series of exhibitions, public events, archival projects, performances, and a residency. Located in the heart of Brooklyn, we aim to cultivate a unique ecology of relationships between individuals, communities, and ideas.

On July 10th, come enjoy open galleries as well as our courtyard at 315 Maujer to welcome the summer season and celebrate the launch of Amant. The party will feature food trucks (Drip Coffee Makers, Fun Time Frosty and Qué Arepa!), DJ sets (Jose Berrío, Nico Losada and Juan Forero), a firsthand look at our bookstore and more.

This event is free and open to the public. No RSVP necessary.

During the opening party, visitors are welcome to visit Amant’s inaugural exhibition by Grada Kilomba, “Heroines, Birds and Monsters”, her first in the US. Working with theory, performance, film, and literature, Kilomba reveals the narratives of the colonial past, giving space to the silenced voices whose traumas are ever present.
